Hi, meet Janice House! The blog where I plan to chronicle the new life and decoration of our newly purchased Colonial Revival in Austin, Texas.

To start off, I wanted to post all of the amazing photos taken by the real estate team at Kumara Wilcoxon. The builder and previous owner created a masterpiece of a house, with amazing architectural details.

For its new life, I’m hoping to take its traditional elements and accentuate them with contrasting styles: a little modern, some transitional, and lots of antiques. Color wise, after having not constrained myself in any way in my last house, I’m aiming for a tighter palette: whites, gilt, dark woods, and pops of blue.

I’m headed to the High Point Market (for the first time!) at the end of the month to get started on this exciting journey.
